Formatting? Me? Using Vellum for formatting?

I have done research on formatting.

A friend even told me a few years ago, “You could format your books yourself.”

Not.

I have listened to Joanna Penn‘s podcasts about formatting. She does it.

Not.

Not until I started thinking about short stories. And how much it might cost to have those formatted.

So I went on Vellum‘s website and did some reading.

Surprise! You can download the software without paying. It comes loaded with The Invisible Man by H. G. Wells. You play with the fonts, the chapter dividers, or titles.

Then you purchase either the one for just ebooks or both ebooks and print.

I figured the cost of just one book professionally formatted is equal to the larger package.

Equal.

No brainer.

I have formatted H. G. Wells‘ story, a short story of my own and a short ebook, Rage Rising, (see photo) and I love it! Took a couple hours to figure things out and then I had a book formatted!

Boom!

It's not hard. It takes a little learning curve to start, but after that, it's fun.
