Where did I ever get interested in writing angels & demons?
A few weeks ago, I booked a booth at the local Swedish Festival. As I’m pitching the books I ask myself that question.
Yes, why do I write about angels and demons? I didn’t grow up in a cult. My parents took me to church. I didn’t have any monsters under my bed, or anywhere else, for that matter?
So where did I get this interest? As I thought about it, I remembered:
- First book about the subject that I remember is This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti published in 1986. I remember a scene where a demon had wrapped itself around a guys leg as he walked.
- When did I follow Jesus for real? In 1984. Interesting time stamps.
- The next one I remember is Ted Dekker’s trilogy Black, Red and White. Different realms. Dreaming. Breathing under water.
- Next, Angelwalk Saga by Roger Elwood, another series.
- I have read this whole series more than once! Wendy Alec – The Chronicles of Brothers.
- Angels of Humility by Jackie Macgirvin
- These books have made their mark on my life, my walk with Jesus, and where I have gone in writing my own stories.
- Bible – Maybe that will be another blog post as there are so many verses that I could post here.
